A brief look at the hugely popular TV car show Top Gear.
Top Gear originally aired in 1977 as a simple magazine programme featuring a wide spectrum of presenters, a few of which went on to front the Channel 5 TV show 'Fifth Gear'. In 2002 Top Gear was updated to be studio based whilst placing more of an emphasis on the program's particularly unique humour and the relationship between presenters James May, Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond. A key feature of the show is the unique tests they perform on the models, such as the notorious Toyota Hilux episode. The trials varied from crashing the car into a tree to pummelling it with a wrecking ball. Top Gear is a must see for any motoring fanatic.
